MSU offers food safety certification July 12-14
BILOXI, Miss. -- Food safety professionals who work for facilities that manufacture, process or store food for human consumption can earn certification mandated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Food Safety Modernization Act during an upcoming workshop.
Experts with the Mississippi State University Extension Service and Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station will offer Preventive Controls for Human Food on July 12-14. The course was developed by the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance.
Atendees can earn certification as a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual during the three-day course at the MSU Coastal Research and Extension Center, located at 1815 Popps Ferry Road in Biloxi.
Class begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. on July 12 and 13. Class begins at 8 a.m. and ends at noon on July 14.
Attendance is limited to 15 students. Registration is $120 per person and includes refreshments, the course book, certificate of completion, and shipping and handling.
The course is open to food safety professionals, maintenance managers, production personnel, wholesalers, sanitation supervisors, plant managers, quality assurance managers, training supervisors, lead technicians, packaging supervisors, regulatory personnel, Extension agents, food science students and others.
