Extension hosts turfgrass research field day
STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Turfgrass managers will soon have an opportunity to learn the latest research from Mississippi State University on landscape care.
The MSU Turfgrass Research Field Day will be held at the R.R. Foil Plant Science Research Center in Starkville Aug. 20.
Experts with the MSU Extension Service and Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station will present information on fraze mowing, approaches to weed control, new herbicides, soil surfactants, and sod production.
The program welcomes landscape architects, lawn care professionals, turf students, golf and sports turf managers, school coaches and superintendents, as well as MSU Extension agents.
Preregistration costs $40 for professionals and is free to all Extension professionals and MSU turf and landscape students. Registration on the day of the event begins at 8 a.m. and is $50 on site for professionals and $15 for Extension staff.
Pesticide applicator recertification credit will be offered for landscape professionals in Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, and Arkansas. Continuing Education Units and MSU Extension in-service training will also be available.
