CRYSTAL SPRINGS, Miss. -- The Alliance of Sustainable Farms will host a field day at the Truck Crops Branch Experiment Station July 19.

The field day will double as a training, the fourth in a series geared toward farmers and ranchers. Training topics include financial marketing, food safety, production and farm policy.

Located at 2024 Experiment Station Road in Crystal Springs, the 175-acre truck crops facility is a unit of Mississippi State University and the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station. Fruit, vegetable and ornamental variety trial crops are grown there for commercial and recreational gardening research.

There is no cost to attend the field day, and lunch is included, but preregistration is required. Onsite check-in begins at 8 a.m. The program begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. To register for the field day, email [email protected].
