MSU hosts Row Crop Short Course for growers
STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Online preregistration for Mississippi’s premier row crop course is open.
Hosted by the Mississippi State University Extension Service and the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station, the 2023 Row Crop Short course will be held on Dec. 4-6 at the Mill Conference Center in Starkville.
The course offers Certified Crop Adviser continuing education units in pest, crop, nutrient and soil and water management. Pesticide applicator recertification credits are also available, along with consultant license renewals in entomology, plant pathology and weed control.
Featured speakers include MSU Extension and MAFES faculty as well as faculty from Texas A&M University, Auburn University, the University of Tennessee and the University of Arkansas. Presentation topics include enhancing irrigation in cracking clay soils, cover crop management considerations and farm management issues for 2024.
The final day features an update on the U.S. Farm Bill and current agricultural markets.
Online registration is available at . Preregister by Nov. 21 for free admission to the conference, which includes all meals. Registration after that date is $40 per person.
